The J. M. Smucker Co. Issues Voluntary Recall of Select Jif® Products Sold in Canada for 
Potential Salmonella Contamination

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – May 21, 2022 – Orrville, OH – The J. M. Smucker Co. today announced a voluntary recall of select Jif® products sold in Canada due to potential salmonella contamination. If consumers have products matching the following description in their possession, they should dispose of it immediately. This information can be found on the product packaging.

Healthy people infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers.

This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the Canadian Food Inspection Agency.
