Where can I use my Staples Gift Card?

Gift cards are valid only at the retailer/service provider listed on the card. Prepaid cards cannot be redeemed for cash. Specific terms and conditions are included with each card.

You can use your Staples® gift card in all Staples retail stores in Canada or online at Staples.ca. There’s no expiration date, and you won’t be charged any service fees. Following each purchases in store, your receipt will show the remaining balance on the card. Value can be added to this card at any Staples retail store in Canada.

Gift cards cannot be used for credit card payments or to purchase other gift cards (including Staples gift cards) or wireless cards. No more than five cards may be used for any single purchase. Cards may not be consolidated.

Activating my Staples Gift Card

That is easy! If you bought a Staples gift card, these are already activated before being shipped out or sent to you by email, but if you have a non-Staples gift card you can simply go to https://staples.giftcardactivate.com then enter the required information.

You can find your order number in the top right corner of your Order Confirmation email that you received.

Price matching with a competitor rebate

Will Staples match a competitor's price for a product where the competitor also offers an instant rebate, mail-in rebate, gift check or gift card, or free or discounted item?

If a competitor offers a product that comes with an instant rebate, mail-in rebate, gift check/gift card, or similar discounts, we will not take these discounts into account. If a competitor offers a product that comes with a free or discounted item, and Staples does not carry the free or discounted item, we will only match the price you pay at the point of purchase, and will not take the free or discounted item into account.

Retail Merchandise Cards

Stores may occasionally offer Retail Merchandise Cards (aka Store Credits) for various reasons. These cards are used to provide a specific amount of credit towards Staples store purchases.

Store credits...

• cannot be used to purchase anything of monetary value (i.e. Gift cards)
• can only be used towards purchases done within a brick-and-mortar Staples store
• can be used at any Staples store regardless of which location provided it to you
• do not expire

FAQ

Where can I redeem my Staples Gift Card?
Staples Canada Gift Cards can be redeemed in Canada only at any Staples Canada retail store or online at www.staples.ca. Select the Gift Card tender option at checkout and enter your gift card number and 4-digit PIN. If your gift card balance does not cover your order total, the balance of your order can be paid by Credit Card. Certain items (including staples gift cards and other prepaid cards) cannot be paid for with a Staples Gift Card. Please retain your redeemed gift cards until your order is shipped. Staples Gift Card cannot be redeemed on www.staplesprint.ca.

How many gift cards can I redeem in a single order?
A maximum of five Staples Gift Cards can be redeemed in a single order.

What if I need to return an item that was paid for with a gift card?
If you return part of, or your entire order, you will receive a Staples Merchandise Card for the portion paid with a Staples Gift Card. For Online order returns (including online orders returned to a retail store), an E-Merchandise Card will be emailed to you. If you return a retail purchase paid with a gift card back to the store, a physical merchandise card will be provided to you. The new card can be redeemed in store or online.

How Can I check my Gift Card Balance?
There are multiple ways to check your Staples Gift card balance:

1. Your current Staples Gift Card balance will be presented to you once you enter the card number and PIN and checkout.
2. You can check your gift card balance online so long as you added the gift card to your profile prior to using it. 📷
   
3. Visit any Staples Canada retail store and ask the associate to check your balance.

I lost my Staples Gift Card. What should I do?
If your card is lost, you will be required to present proof of purchase at a Staples Retail Store in Canada or Call 1-877-635-7704. A replacement card will be sent to you for any remaining balance on the lost card.

Where can I purchase a Gift Card?
Gift cards can be purchased in store or on www.staples.ca. No more than ten cards or $3,000 in gift cards can be purchased in a single order. Gift Cards cannot be financed. Gift Cards cannot be paid for with a Staples Card, Flexiti Card or another gift card / prepaid card.
